History

Himachal Pradesh chapter of API was formed in the year 1999 under the guidance of Prof S K Bansal. The 1st meet of the chapter was held on 30/10/1999 in Kufri Resort Shimla. Prof D J Dasgupta was elected as 1st president and Prof S Kashyap as 1st general secretary of the state chapter. Since then the HP API chapter has grown significantly. Under it's banner, the physicians of the state are rendering valuable services to the community in the form of medical camps, radio/TV talks and mass education programmes. HP API chapter is holding annual meets regularly which are well attended and known for academic and social interactions. The state chapter has twice been bestowed with best state chapter awards which is a great honour for a small chapter.
